5 Ways to Make Some Extra Cash From Home

5 Ways to Make Some Extra Cash From Home

A little extra cash can always come in handy. Heck, a lot of extra cash can come in handy.

It’s not as difficult as you might think to earn some extra money every month. Here are five ways to make some extra cash from home without having to go out and get a part-time job:

Garage Sale

Sell your stuff

You’ve probably got too much stuff in your home, or at least some things you rarely use or may never use. Much of it can be sold.

The most common way is to have a garage sale. If the weather is good, have a garage sale on the last Saturday of the month and invite your neighbors to expand the sale by having their own garage sales on the same day.

If that doesn’t work for you, try selling your old stuff on Craigslist, eBay and many other websites. Gazelle, for example, specializes in buying old phones and other electronics.

Make something fun

If you have an artistic hobby, then Etsy is the online store to sell it from. Or create a website to sell jewelry, wedding veils, hats, keychains and cupcake toppers, among many other things. Whatever you can make, you can find somewhere to sell online if there’s a market for it.

Rent out your stuff

The list of things you own that you can rent out is growing daily. You can rent out your car when you’re not using it at RelayRides, rent out your driveway parking space at Spot, rent your bike out on Spinlister, and rent out your clothes at DateMyWardrobe.

If you’re going to be out of town for a while, you can rent your home or apartment on all kinds of real estate sites. These include Airbnb, VRBO and Glamping, where you can rent out your private land for people to camp on.

Be an online juror

Online juries are used by attorneys to test a case before it goes to trial. OnlineVerdict.com pays online jurors to review cases from home and give feedback through an online questionnaire. A check for your service is sent each month.

The site also lists other companies that pay for opinions on products, politics and opinion polls on government corporations and non-profit organizations.

Tutor

Are you a math whiz and good at explaining things to children or teenagers? Being a tutor from your home can be a good side gig. If you play a musical instrument or speak a second language, check out Tutor.com to see if it has opportunities for you.
